Surgery hours (also called availability or working hours) define when a doctor is available for appointments. These hours are used by the appointment booking system to show available time slots to patients. Without surgery hours set, patients cannot book appointments with a doctor.

Surgery hours can be configured on a weekly recurring schedule, making it easy to set up regular working hours that repeat each week.

Accessing Surgery Hours

  • Log in to your doctor dashboard
  • Navigate to Surgery Hours from the main menu
  • You’ll see your weekly schedule interface

Understanding the Surgery Hours Interface

If you are assigned to multiple clinics, the surgery hours interface displays separate tabs for each clinic:

  • Clinic Tabs – One tab per clinic you belong to
  • Independent Schedules – Each clinic has its own separate weekly schedule
  • Easy Switching – Click tabs to switch between clinic schedules

If you belong to only one clinic, no tabs are displayed and you see a single weekly schedule.

The weekly schedule shows your recurring availability:

  • Days of the Week – Monday through Sunday
  • Time Blocks – Your scheduled hours for each day
  • Session Duration – Length of each appointment slot

Adding Surgery Hours

Step 1: Select the Clinic (If Applicable)

If you work at multiple clinics:

  • Click on the tab for the clinic where you want to add hours
  • The schedule for that specific clinic will display

Step 2: Click “Add Hours”

Click the Add Hours button to open the schedule creation modal.

Step 3: Configure the Schedule

In the modal window, complete the following fields:

  • Day of Week (Required) Select which day(s) of the week you’ll be available
  • Start Time (Required) Select when your availability begins
  • End Time (Required) Select when your availability ends.
  • Important: The system automatically prevents overlapping time blocks.
  • Session Duration (Required) Select how long each appointment slot should be: 15, 20, 30, 45, 60 minutes)

Example: If you set:

  • Start: 09:00 AM
  • End: 12:00 PM
  • Duration: 30 minutes

Patients can book at: 9:00, 9:30, 10:00, 10:30, 11:00, 11:30

Step 4: Save

Click Save to add the surgery hours to your schedule.

The new time block will appear in your weekly schedule for the selected clinic.
