Patients are the core users of your ClinicWP system. Each patient record includes personal information, contact details, and medical history. When you create a patient, ClinicWP automatically generates a WordPress user account with secure login credentials, allowing patients to access their own dashboard, view appointments, and check their examination records.

Who Can Create Patients

Administrators

  • Full access to create and manage all patients
  • Access via: ClinicWP → Patients → Add New

Doctors

  • Can create patients from their own dashboard
  • Access via: Doctor Dashboard → Patients → Add New Patient

What Happens When a Patient is Created

1. WordPress User Account Created

  • A new WordPress user account is automatically generated
  • Username: Generated from email address (e.g., john.smith)
  • Password: Randomly generated secure password
  • Role: Assigned “CWP Patient” role

2. Welcome Email Sent

  • Patient receives an automated welcome email
  • Email contains: Login credentials (username and password), Link to patient dashboard, Instructions for accessing their account, Your clinic contact information

Customizing the Welcome Email

The patient welcome email can be fully customized to match your practice’s branding and communication style.

To Customize the Email:

  • Navigate to ClinicWP → Settings
  • Click on the Email Templates tab
  • Find New Patient Welcome Email
