Before installing ClinicWP, ensure your WordPress installation meets the following requirements:

  • WordPress Version: 6.8 or higher
  • PHP Version: 8.3 or higher
  • MySQL Version: 5.7 or higher (MySQL 8.0+ recommended)
  • HTTPS: Recommended for patient data security
  • WordPress Memory Limit: 128MB minimum (256MB recommended)

Manual Installation (Upload ZIP File)

  • Download the ClinicWP plugin ZIP file from clinicwp.com
  • Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard
  • Upload the Plugin. Navigate to Plugins → Add New
  • Click the Upload Plugin button at the top of the page. Click Choose File and select the downloaded ZIP file. Click Install Now.
  • Once the upload is complete, click Activate Plugin.

FTP Installation (Advanced Users)

  • Unzip the ClinicWP plugin file on your computer
  • Connect to your server using an FTP client (e.g., FileZilla)
  • Navigate to /wp-content/plugins/ directory
  • Upload the extracted clinicwp folder
  • Go to your WordPress admin dashboard
  • Navigate to Plugins → Installed Plugins. Find ClinicWP in the list and click Activate.

Post-Activation

Upon activation, ClinicWP automatically creates the following database tables:

  • wp_cwp_clinics – Stores clinic information
  • wp_cwp_departments – Stores department data
  • wp_cwp_doctors – Stores doctor profiles
  • wp_cwp_patients – Stores patient records (encrypted)
  • wp_cwp_appointments – Stores appointment bookings
  • wp_cwp_examinations – Stores examination records
  • wp_cwp_examination_fields – Stores custom examination fields
  • wp_cwp_surgery_hours – Stores doctor availability
  • wp_cwp_logs – Stores system logs

User Roles Created

ClinicWP creates two custom WordPress roles:

  • CWP Doctor – For medical practitioners
  • CWP Patient – For patients

Uninstallation

To completely remove ClinicWP:

  • Deactivate the Plugin – Go to Plugins → Installed Plugins. Click Deactivate under ClinicWP
  • Delete the Plugin – After deactivation, click Delete. Confirm the deletion

Note: Deleting the plugin will permanently remove all database tables, clinic data, patient records, and appointments. This action cannot be undone. Make sure to backup your data before uninstalling.
